A photograph of Alice Davis and her first husband Dr. John B. Deer. (Their marriage record states his name is spelled with an e on the end, however, a book he gave and signed to her in 1896 is signed "Deer"). Records show they were married in Hot Springs, Arkansas in November 1898 when Alice was 20 years old. She appears to be about 20 in this photo--however he looks a bit older--maybe in his 30s. Haven't discovered birth/death records for him as yet, however, I assumed he died, then she married Dr. Joel McDonald around 1908 perhaps. Also have similar photos. (notes by Laura Davidson-Albachten)
